Family get-together 2012

In lieu of my parents 50th wedding anniversary, their request was to have all of their children together for a few days this summer.  We rented three cabins and brought our camper along too, for extra room.  We had a grand time together, playing games, eating, swimming, eating, sleeping, eating, and well just being with each other! :-)

Here are the two smaller cabins we rented.

The kids eating arrangements...Drew in the toddler seat and the remainder outside.

 Roasting s'mores

 Eating!

Drew and his cousin, Clay, playing with each other.

Mom and dad and the grandkids that were present.

Everyone that was there!

 My immediate family, minus Paul.

Drew and daddy enjoying a popsicle together.

A game of kickball....Drew REALLY wanted to be in the middle of the whole game so he kept mommy busy on her toes!

Drew's 1st Birthday

We celebrated Drew's 1st Birthday. Where has the time gone??  He was a surprise but a total wonder and joy to have in our family.
I wonder what Kyra is thinking....

Drew didn't know what to think about the cupcake and candle...he watched everyone as they sang Happy Birthday to him but kept his eye on that cupcake. As you can tell in the picture below, even after the fire was extinguished, Drew still didn't know if he should touch it.

He pretty much demolished his cupcake and loved every bite!

Drew loved the tissue paper the night we opened presents and the next morning said "OH!" when he looked on the floor and saw the numerous opened presents ready for him to play with.  He never crawled so fast to get to this new-found toys. :-)

The Kleins, Jorenbys, Berndts, and all of the grandparents helped us celebrate Drew's 1st Birthday.

Hayz and Ellie Klein helped Drew celebrate his birthday as well.

Clare Jorenby helped Drew open his presents.

We went to the Shrine Circus with the Berndt's.  They got second row tickets from their work---it was AMAZING!  As you can tell, we were up front and personal.  I didn't have to zoom for the pictures.

Drew couldn't care less that I was taking pictures of us.

Believe it not, but there were 4 motorcyles in this ball going around and around.  It was hard to catch all of them at once.

It was difficult to get a good picture of the stunt-bikers due to the high speed and motion.

Driving in style...

The kids thought it would be funny to drive Drew around on the car...but then realized how fun it was to do it themselves as well.

I look like an angel

Kadence was a flower girl in Abbey and John Cooper's wedding on April 14th, 2012.  She did a great job of ringing her bell down the aisle. She had a fun time and LOVED her dress.  She said, "I look like an angel, mom."

As you can tell, Kyra was a little sad that she didn't get to wear a dress like Kadence.  We made her feel pretty special though...everyone sang Happy Birthday to her at the rehearsal supper and made sure she was spoiled.

Growing up too fast....

Drew has been growing up TOO fast...I cannot believe my little man is going to be "1" soon.  He LOVES to watch the kitties by watching out the deck window and will "talk" to them if they interact with him.

Nick's Spring Concert

Nick had his second Spring Concert in April.  He was very excited...something that shocked his mommy! :-)

Kyra's 3rd Birthday

Due to a family wedding, we celebrated Kyra's birthday a day prior to her actual birthday.  She had Elmo as her "theme".  She wanted new toys for her sandbox, so we got those for her as well as some items for water play outside.  She had a great time!

New Mexico---here comes Aaron and Nick

Aaron and Nick spent a few days on a "fan bus" supporting the men's SDSU basketball team as they headed to New Mexico for teh NCAA tournament. They were SO EXCITED to go and when asked if they would do it again (after riding so long in the bus), they both said..."You bet!" Nick was the youngest on the bus. A basketball player, Brayden Carlson, found out Nick was on the bus and wrote Nick a letter stating how nice it is to have such a supportive fan like him. It truly made Nick's day!

Congrats Nick!

Nick was chosen as Medary's Kid of Character for his class this month. The character trait was Trustworthiness. The teacher said Nick is a trustworthy person overall...with following rules, to playing with friends and being nice to everyone he meets. We are very proud of you Nick!

Nick's Spring music concert

Nick had his annual Spring music concert. He was very excited and didn't seem nervous whatsoever. Nick doesn't have a "knack" for music but LOVES anything dealing with music such as playing instruments, listening to music, etc. (as long as he doesn't have to sing by himself) Nick is on the top row in a light blue dress shirt towards the right side of the pictures.

Kadence

Kadence wanted me to take a few pictures of her one night. These were her favorites she picked out.
